The Specialist, Ecommerce is responsible for supporting the day-to-day management, maintenance, and optimization of SHRM’s ecommerce platform, ensuring a seamless online shopping experience for our customers. This role will support the execution of ecommerce change management and business processes within SHRM in partnership with the Manager, ecommerce. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, ecommerce, and digital platforms, with a working understanding of marketing and data analytics and an expertise in Adobe Commerce or Magento. The Ecommerce Specialist will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and enhancing customer engagement through effective management of our ecommerce operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ecommerce Platform Management:

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Adobe Commerce/Magento ecommerce platform.

  • Ensure the platform is running smoothly, including product catalog management, inventory control, and order fulfillment.

  • Optimize site performance, usability, and customer experience to maximize conversion rates.

  • Implement and maintain effective payment processing, shipping, and security systems.

  • Work with development team through, and participate in, the entire release management lifecycle (discover, design, development, and test phases).

  • Project Management & Governance:

  • Support ecommerce-related projects from initiation to completion, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring timely delivery.

  • Define project requirements, develop project plans, and set realistic timelines and milestones.

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and take appropriate actions to mitigate them.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Document and maintain ecommerce standard operating procedures (SOPs), processes, and training resources.

  • Provide training support to internal customers on product creation and product details page build and maintenance.

  • Digital Marketing and Merchandising:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute ecommerce campaigns, promotions, and initiatives to drive sales.

  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices.

  • Optimize product listings, descriptions, and imagery to enhance the online shopping experience.

  • Utilize data analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make data-driven decisions to improve performance.

  • Analytics and Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics related to ecommerce, such as traffic, conversion rates, and customer behavior.

  • Generate regular reports on ecommerce performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending actionable strategies.

  • Utilize data analysis to identify customer insights, preferences, and trends to inform merchandising decisions and marketing strategies.

Education & Work Requirements

  • Degree or certificate in relevant field or extensive experience in a similar position.

  • 2-4 years of experience working with ecommerce platforms, preferably Adobe Commerce or Magento.

  • Experience or other foundation for understanding digital sales, marketing, data analytics or other equivalent digital business development experience.

  • Experience with NetSuite is preferred.

  • Experience with ecommerce change management initiatives, ideally in an organization wide implementation context.

  • Experience in an agile environment a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Good understanding of ecommerce best practices, digital experience best practices, and conversion optimization.

  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques to extract actionable insights.

  • Familiarity with digital marketing, SEO, SEM, and email marketing concepts.

  • Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality work.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of HR or association industry trends and practices is a plus.

Work environment

  • Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. This job requires occasional travel 0-10%.

The hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $91,000 per year. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
