SUMMARY

We are seeking a B2C Content Specialist with a flair for creating engaging and impactful content tailored to our emerging professional audience comprised of traditional and non-traditional students. This role is crucial in nurturing the next generation of HR professionals by providing them with valuable insights, practical advice, and career guidance. Reporting to the Manager of B2C Content, the specialist will play a pivotal role in our mission to shape the future of HR.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Content Creation : Craft compelling, relevant, and informative content tailored to HR students and emerging professionals, across all phases of the customer lifecycle, including awareness, nurture, acquisition, engagement, retention, and loyalty. This includes articles, blog posts, newsletters, and multimedia content that resonates with this demographic.

  • Audience Engagement : Develop strategies to increase engagement among our target audience through innovative content delivery and interactive initiatives.

  • Research and Insights: Conduct thorough research to stay ahead of industry trends, career development techniques, and educational opportunities that can benefit our audience.

  • Collaboration : Work closely with the B2C Content team and other departments to ensure a cohesive content strategy that aligns with SHRM's overall goals.

  • Feedback Analysis : Utilize engagement metrics and feedback to refine content strategies, ensuring the needs and interests of our audience are continuously met.

  • Brand Ambassadorship : Represent SHRM's brand values and mission in all content, fostering a community of future HR leaders.

  • Other duties assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in content creation, with a focus on career development and/or learning and development.

  • Experience conducting interviews, gathering information, and checking facts throughout the content creation process.

  • Understanding of HR principles, career development strategies, and the challenges faced by HR students and emerging professionals.

  • A portfolio of work, including short& long-form pieces.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Expertise in content strategy, digital analytics, and audience growth techniques.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, and informative content.

  • Proficiency in content management systems and digital analytics tools.

  • Strong research skills and the ability to distill complex concepts into accessible content.

  • Creativity and innovation in content creation and delivery.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to analyze engagement data and adapt content strategies accordingly.

  • A passion for storytelling and a keen interest in career development topics.

  • Commitment to SHRM's mission and values.

  • Experience in creating content for a similar audience is highly desirable.

  • Passionate about SHRM's mission and committed to advancing the HR profession.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Capable of performing essential duties with reasonable accommodations.

  • Work involves sitting, talking, hearing, and typing, with visual acuity required for keyboard usage, data analysis, and computer terminal operation.

  • Occasional light lifting may be necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is primarily conducted in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment.

  • Expected office presence of 3 days per week.

  • Minimal travel requirements, less than 10%

The hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $91,000 per year. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
