SHRM seeks a Senior Specialist, Corporate Communications & Special Projects to support the Brand and Marketing Division in achieving organizational goals. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Corporate Communications, this role offers a unique blend of project management, strategic collaboration, and hands-on execution to manage initiatives that align with SHRM’s mission andobjectives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership:

  • Oversee and manage multiple concurrent corporate communications and marketing projects.

  • Develop andmonitorproject plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure alignment with SHRM's strategic goals.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project updates, status reports, and communications.

  • Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external vendors.

  • Coordinate the creation of print and digital campaign assets to support various initiatives.

  • Drive efficient workflows across departments and tools,optimizingresource allocation.

  • Strategic Insight:

  • Provide recommendations on communications and marketing strategies to enhance project outcomes.

  • Identifyopportunities for process improvements and incorporate lessons learned from past initiatives into future project plans.

  • Seek innovative ways to collaborate with stakeholders to meet departmental goals.

  • Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track project milestones and manage budgets to ensure alignment with grant or funder requirements.

  • Proactivelyidentifyrisks and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.

  • Deliver comprehensive project evaluations and reports post-completion.

  • Special Initiatives and Representation:

  • Lead or contribute to special projects that fall outside the scope of routine responsibilities, ensuring strategic alignment and success.

  • Represent SHRM and the Communications and Marketing Department at internal and external meetings and events.

  • Provide support for urgent requests or high-priority initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field.

  • 5-7 years of experience in project management, corporate communications, or marketing, with a proventrack recordof delivering complex projects successfully.

  • Strong ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across departments.

  • Proficiencyin project management tools and software, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, adaptability, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

  • A strategic thinker who can connect the dots between organizationalobjectivesand tactical execution.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation.

  • Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Work environment

  • Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

The hiring range for this position is $83,000 to $95,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
