Summary

The Lead Researcher, Enterprise Market Research plans and supports ways to support the market research needs of SHRM’s Enterprise Solutions team by identifying growth opportunities through data products and managing the market research activities of these opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Enterprise Solutions team to create new revenue opportunities through SHRM data assets.

  • Collaborate with product teams to design and develop new data assets.

  • Build relationships with external partners to improve and augment data capabilities.

  • Understand the unique needs of Enterprise customers to guide product development and create data products that provide value and increase customer loyalty.

  • Ensure all projects are aligned with company goals and run efficiently.

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure SHRM’s member database is updated with newly collected Enterprise data fields.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in research, marketing, market research, statistics; or equivalent relevant work experience/training

  • At least seven (7) years of experience with market research and survey research, working on large, complex data sets.

  • Experience with product and customer based data analysis.

  • Hands-on experience designing and delivering customer segmentation analyses.

  • Experience functioning in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Experience in data analysis tools and survey software (e.g., Tableau, SPSS, R, Qualtrics)

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in research, marketing, market research, statistics, or other related area.

  • Notable accomplishments in data storytelling & customer demographics data.

  • Exposure to predictive analytics.

Certifications

  • Tableau Desktop Certified preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong data analysis skills and mathematical statistical tool proficiency.

  • High attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

  • Professional integrity necessary to maintain confidentiality.

  • Strong planning skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to complete assigned duties within critical deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Proficiency with modern reporting platforms and tools like Tableau and Alteryx.

  • Ability to grasp complex platform concepts and business models, in a digital context.

Preferred

  • Ability to derive and present compelling stories based on data and metrics.

  • Ability to build professional relationships across reporting lines

Work environment

  • Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

The hiring range for this position is $110,000 to $135,000 per year. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
