The Marketing Copywriter Specialist is a self-motivated, dynamic, critical thinker with a deep understanding of marketing, audience behavior, cross-channel messaging, content creation, and branded storytelling. Passionate understanding how to create B2B content that creates an emotive response. The role is a multi-channel content creator for the marketing out to B2B audiences and buyers. You will developcompelling, transformative, persuasive prose – including but not limited to digital copy,email copy, subject lines, social media, ad copy, taglines, print pieces, product sheets, websites, sales presentation decks, automated nurtures series and responses, sales enablement content such as blogs, case studies, etc.
Responsibilities
Understand SHRM’s integrated content planswith an eye towards how to tell a B2B story across channels. Create different assets to drive impact and conversion of B2B products and services. Tailor messages so that the content matters to the people reading it within the new digital first B2B buyers’ journey.
Craft integrated and customized content for SHRM’s audiences to drive measurable results.
SEO & SEM and a firm grasp on how content and messaging of campaigns are searched for and found by audiences in a B2B setting- the actual buyer and those influencing them.
Brainstorm and write for B2B campaigns that include national advertising, digital, social, owned, earned, print, and in-person experiences and events.
Ensure grammatical accuracy, message clarity and a consistent style and voice through all content. Proofread copy and review collateral layouts to ensure they make sense for the story being crafted all with a keen eye for detail.
Seek ways to optimize content performance, using metrics and tracking to ladder back to business goals.
Use persuasive writing through the B2B marketing lens.
Conceive and produce effective marketing campaigns in partnership with sales, growth marketing, Enterprise Solutions marketing, product owners and other Marketing & Experience stakeholders, aligned with the corporate brand guidelines.
Manage simultaneous projects with many moving parts and timelines.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and demonstrated understanding of B2B content
3+ years of experience in a writing and messaging role at a B2B marketing/PR agency or B2B sales enablement setting
Exceptional marketing copywriting, editing and proofreading skills.
Ability to write marketing messages that tell a story AND drive action/conversion.
Mastery of AP Stylebook and an understanding of when to bend the rules for certain audiences.
Demonstrated ability to ask questions, understand market trends, pull the SHRM strategy into the messaging and take a project from a blank piece of paper to extensive mutli-faceted, persuasive B2B content.
Expertise communicating a value prop or campaign in a moving and yet clear manner to drive a B2B audience to action.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.
Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Work Environment
Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
