The Specialist, Educational Programs serves as an integral member of the SHRM Educational Programs team. This position works closely with the Manager, Educational Programs and Education Team to implement the overall educational programs strategy with the goal of delivering the highest caliber of service and programming to SHRM members and the greater business community. This position will also deliver the required understanding and front-line management for all SHRM educational programs (virtual, in-person and blended).
Serve as primary relationship manager for in-person and virtual program instructors.
For virtual programs, manage all delivery logistics (from pre-program through post-program) to include access and functionality of the virtual training platform, the program schedule for all virtual and hybrid programs and provide technical and overall support, including outside of normal business hours at times.
Manage all on-site and off-site operational logistics for in-person programs in collaboration with the SHRM Events team, including meeting space logistics, food and beverage arrangements and deliverables of in-person program materials.
Actively participate in the scheduling and programming of all SHRM educational program dates, locations, and instructor assignments.
Responsible for and continuously monitor program attendance, attendee satisfaction and program/product set-up, through internal platforms as well as online.
Advise and participate in curriculum and program development discussions.
Manage production of all program materials in collaboration with the Instructional Design Team, to include accuracy of content, within budget guidelines.
Work with a team of SHRM On-Site Coordinators and Virtual Tech Producers to ensure successful program deliveries.
Partner with the Education Team members and SHRM’s Finance & Accounting Team on the operational finances and obligations of the business. Also, participate in the annual budgeting process and ongoing management of Educational Programs finances.
Work with internal partners to manage and monitor Education inquiries, trends and escalations from internal and external audiences.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or related field; or equivalent relevant experience
At least three (3) years’ experience in managing programs/events and/or projects or equivalent level of experience in project/program administration. Six (6) years of professional experience in lieu of a degree.
Excellent communication skills, including editing, writing and verbal skills.
High attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet critical deadlines.
Ability to interact in a positive manner with stakeholders at various levels within an organization and display strong customer service skills, diplomacy, and tact.
Ability to creatively problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work positively with partners in coalitions, in teams, and independently.
Prior experience or desire to quickly develop working knowledge of NetSuite, Salesforce, SumTotal Learn, Adobe and other technology platforms Awareness of learning trends, adult learning principles and virtual training environments.
Ability to interpret financial reports and perform data analysis to inform business decisions.
