SHRM Senior Strategy Analyst in Alexandria, Virginia
The Senior Analyst studies industries with the aim of achieving greater growth and efficiency for SHRM. This position leads research and information gathering about growth opportunities, competitors, and market share possibilities and builds mosaic’s for decision making on potential partnerships and Merger & Acquisition. This position is multifaceted, balancing hands-on activities and high-level strategy, and plays a pivotal role in helping the transformation team broaden SHRM’s footprint in Human Resources and the workplace.
Research and study domestic and global company operations for greater understanding of cultural and migratory shifts in Human Resources and the workforce.
Analyze industry prospects and potential investments in Human Resources and field of work, gathering information about growth, competitors, and financial position to prepare customized presentations for the Transformation Team.
Assess potential transactions and their implications. This includes developing the recommended course of action, project plans, managing the process by working with other leaders to create an overall vision, preparing strategy roadmaps, timelines, budgets, technology selection as applicable.
Monitor emerging trends in Merger & Acquisitions practice, develop appropriate strategy and support end-to-end associated activities. Educate and mentor internal stakeholders on best practices.
Participate in developing tactics, assessing cultural dimensions, due diligence data collection, and post-transaction integration planning.
Working closely with the transformation team initiate required course of action for due diligence as well as for the formulation of preferred approach.
Encourage innovation, implementation of best practices, creative problem solving for all growth inititatives.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, mathematics or a related field; MBA preferred.
3 years of experience in company acquisitions & mergers, strategy consulting or transformation environment, or a Master’s degree with 1 year of experience.
Substantial knowledge and understanding of company acquisition strategies and merger processes.
Demonstrated experience with broker practices and culture.
Experience in one or more business domains, such as finance and human resources, organizational design, talent management.
Demonstrated understanding and hands-on experience with data analytics.
Strong analytical skills, knowledge of global market, and strong business accumen and intuition.
Strong research, modeling, and evaluation skills.
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solver, hardworking and reliable.
Demonstrated ability to leverage data and metrics to drive both organizational and business solutions, with strong interpersonal skills.
Exceptional communication skills, both in written and verbal form.
Proficiency with MS Office including PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to create engaging presentations and briefings for stakeholders.
