SHRM Manager, Foundation Programs in Alexandria, Virginia
The SHRM Foundation is a values-based charity organization whose mission is to champion workforce and workplace transformation. It provides research-based solutions for challenging inclusion issues facing current and potential employees, scholarships to educate and develop HR professionals and opportunities for HR professionals to make a difference in their local communities. The SHRM Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management.
The Manager, Foundation Programs manages the development of a competency-based Human Resource Specialist Registered Apprenticeship Program. The program will be a nationally recognized professional credential to support the large-scale expansion of apprenticeship in HR industry. The Manager is responsible for management of the administrative, evaluation and day-to-day operations of the program. The Manager oversees the development and deployment of a virtual Apprenticeship Mentor Training module and broadly promotes the benefits of apprenticeship across SHRM’s entire membership and the field as a whole. The Manager coordinates the engagement of internal and external stakeholders to achieve program outcomes and oversees the fulfillment of federal grant deliverables and outcomes.
Promotes and supports the implementation of all Foundation’s programming and initiatives.
Collaborates with the Director, Foundation Programs to create annual and monthly operational plans that activate the program’s strategic plan.
Coordinates delivery of program activities with the US Department of Labor and ensures the success and fulfillment of all contractual and performance objectives.
Manages the progress of the fulfillment of federal contract and grant requirements.
Serves as a liaison to community based organization partners and industry employers.
Collaborates with SHRM research and SHRM product development and certification teams to develop and maintain program products as appropriate.
Helps to design evaluative measures, metrics and process for tracking program goals, objectives and outcomes.
Provides ongoing oversight, ensuring quality control and consistency of participation and evaluation of program initiatives and components.
Manages multiple projects and working groups simultaneously for all assigned products.
Personifies a dynamic, professional, personable style and serves as a spokesperson and organizational representative before a range of stakeholder audiences for SHRM Foundation.
Collaborates with the Director, Foundation Programs to create and monitor annual operational plans and budgets.
Maintains open lines of communication and works collaboratively with SHRM Membership and Government Relations departments related to the program’s programmatic work and events to ensure alignment, coordination of efforts and identify opportunities to leverage the work of SHRM Foundation.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
8 or more years of experience managing the development, implementation and promotion of either/both for-profit, non-profit programming, communications and public relations, and project management of high profile and high touch national and regional events/conferences programmatic planning.
Extensive apprenticeship, stakeholder and volunteer experience management.
Demonstrated experience in the field of apprentice initiatives and program.
Experience with federal contracts and grants.
Experience with research and analysis of workforce data, and the creation and development of career pathways and credentials.
Demonstrated success in managing growing workforce development initiatives and possessing association management/non-profit business knowledge.
Ability to manage multiple projects, have an eye for detail yet an appreciation and understanding of the bigger picture.
Ability to manage and communicate effectively with external partners and vendors.
Possess oral and written communication skills and demonstrate a hospitable spirit, with a commitment and a knack for strategic thinking and anunderstanding of the benefits of working collaboratively, openly, take calculated risks and position new ideas and ways of doing business that inspire and excite stakeholders.
Demonstrated approach to creative program development and the ability to manage program and event effectiveness to ensure SHRM Foundation's investments are of the highest and best use.
Ability to think creatively and generate compelling ideas and identify opportunities to highlight the work of the SHRM Foundation, and highlight stakeholders, donors and those who benefit and grow professionally and personally as a result of SHRM Foundation's efforts.
Highly proficient at working cross functionally and collaboratively across departments and with separate partners and stakeholders.
